(All Experience Levels) $290. Ages 8-17, 9:00am-3:30pm. Girls only! This camp is designed for female youth from beginner to intermediate levels of fencing led by Fencing Maestra Jennifer Oldham and Forge Coach Cathleen Randall. This camp will explore how to compete with healthy resiliency by being the best we can be alongside other girls with similar interests. Fence Like a Girl! uses a wide variety of games and exercises to build self-confidence, athletic awareness, and skills which develop athletic aptitude in all sports. Specific skill important to fencers include important to fencers such as hand-eye coordination, quick reflexes, the ability to change direction efficiently, and the ability to make quick decisions with psychological resiliency. We also will be using electrical fencing equipment and learning skills surrounding what it means to compete as an athlete or student, as we investigate and discover how healthy competition is a beneficial component to growing up and growing strong. No matter your sport fencing experience, participants should feel successful in their participation.
