Forge Youth Competitive Camp - 2026
If your child is discovering their passion for fencing and eager to learn more, the Forge Youth Competitive Camp is a fun and engaging way to explore the sport while continuing to build skills and confidence. This camp gives young athletes the chance to train with all three Olympic-style weapons—foil, epee, and saber—allowing them to deepen their experience in their primary weapon while also trying out the others.
Who This Camp Is For:
- Fencers with at least 6 months of prior fencing experience
- Competitive experience is welcome, but not required
- A great fit for Level 2 and Level 3 Academy, Youth High Performance, and emerging High Performance athletes
- Ages 7–14
What Camp Is Like:
This camp is designed to be active, social, and exploratory, helping young fencers grow their love for the sport while learning how to train more intentionally. Sessions blend instruction with games and creative challenges that keep athletes moving, thinking, and having fun.
Camp activities include:
- Skill-building through games and interactive drills
- Footwork, balance, and movement development
- Introduction to competitive-style training in an age-appropriate way
- Team challenges that encourage cooperation and sportsmanship
- Plenty of fencing and opportunities to Forge lifelong friendships
Equipment:
Having your own fencing gear is encouraged, but club equipment is available if needed.
Schedule & Cost:
- Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM daily
- Cost: $475 per athlete
Individual lessons are an optional add-on and will be offered for scheduling prior to camp at an additional cost or through Forge member lesson packages.
Forge members who are also attending the Pre-Nationals Camp may be eligible for a discount. Please reach out for details.
Visiting From Out of Town?
Fencers from other clubs are welcome! Forge Fencing is located in downtown Durham, a walkable and family-friendly area with many nearby Airbnb options. A limited number of homestays may be available—reach out if you need help planning your visit.
